Lets begin with the trade, shall we? How many times I already trade with Sauroid? Eehm, I really don't know anymore XD But our trades are becoming a certainty nowadays and I really like that. Next to Brett, Sauroid is a big deliverer of Japanese models for my collection. And he is a good friend, which makes trading also a lot more fun of course! I am behind showing them, so here are the animals I got in the resent trade. We begin with some very rare Yujin turtles and tortoises! They are little, detailed beauties and I am very happy to have them in my collection! Next are some Kaiyodo animals and a Colorata shark. I got two more Coloratas in the trade, but they are getting a loving new home with Julie in the next couple of weeks. (Just like some of the small, no brand zoo animals I also got in this trade.) I love the variety in the animals I got in this trade <3 Love me some birds! Especially from the parakeet, cockatoo and parrot species. Look how colorful these three are. Amazing colors and details on such small birds. Happy Bird Bunch <3 My very first nautilus in my collection! Gosh, I wish I could see this ancient animal in real some day. But for now, I have a small replica to admire <3 From one of the Kaiyodo bottle cap Aquarium series. Hope to have more models of this beautiful animal one day! Last model from this trade is one that I am so in love with! Her face, the colors/pattern, the pose, everything is just perfect. I am more of a feline lover, but this husky made my heart melt <3 ~Thank you so much for this trade Sauroid!~ Big MPV haul, Wish List animals from 2016! Almost every year I save a little bit of money to buy one big animal group from Modellpferdeversand. Most of these animals are on my WL for that year, this time there where mostly from 2016. Got 3 major brands, Papo, CollectA and Safari LTD. And about 21 animals or so. Got photos from all of them, so that quite a lot XD Shall do a quick review on them all, just because they deserve it. Lets begin with the Papo animals! First animal I start this haul with is a big one! Papo has launched a new series called Large Animals and there are just a few to start with; Two tigers (normal color and a white one) an elephant, an lion and this one; a wolf! Now I am so happy that they choose to gave this model some color. As the smaller version is the arctic wolf and is all white, with some shades hare and there of course. Would be a lazy choice imho to let this big fella be all white. I am in love and could not have hoped for more <3 From one amazing animal to the next one; the upright standing tiger! I have no words for it as I unpacked him from the box. He is incredible! Now Papo already has a great tiger family with a mother suckling her cubs, to a protecting father and older cubs in between. But don't you dare think 'it is just an other tiger again then', oh no, not at all! Not only the pose makes it worth buying this big cat, but also the details, paintwork and the ability to create so many play scenarios with it. (For the record, I do not play with my animal XD) Tigers do fight with each other and they can stand on their hind paws/feet to look more impressive to their opponent (mostly males). And so can this impressive big cat! More cats! Only this time three small house cats. They are the new Persian, Russian blue and a new color variation of the red tabby cat with his tail up. Now I love the fact that Papo makes different cat breeds, starting with the Siamese cat last year. I really love the Persian, with his flatted face and his ears a bit flat it makes him look a bit grumpy, which imho suites this Persian very well. The Russian blue has a great pose and I like the face and color also. The color variation cat makes my Papo cats 'with tail up' an 'official' conga line of three now. From felines up to some canines. First one is the Australian Shepherd. I am a little bit disappointed about this one. He does not really represent the breed as much as I had hoped he would. He lacks a lot of fluff in my opinion. Although AS can be very athletic and are uses in many dog sports, most AS have more body as hair than this one does. Nevertheless, the colors/pattern is great and I love the sweet face. Although the tongue is way to large to fit in this dogs mouth. A wild canine this time and I am so happy to have this little fella now! The Arctic fox! He looks so good, love the blue/gray hue he has as a kind of shadow I guess? He fits the style of Papo so well! And together with his big cousin the Arctic wolf, he is a must have for every canine lover out there <3 We stay with Papo for the next two animals. Papo has a very good range of animals this year. Hope they preform just as good in 2017. This bird would not win a beauty pageant in the bird section, but I am very happy to have one in my collection now; The Marabou stork! Long legs are always a bit of a trouble maker for many model animal brands, but with a good base (or in some cases bigger legs) a bird can stand just fine. And this one does <3 He is resting and has a sturdy pose. Love the head and neck, skin toned parts are hard to make looking natural. But Papo scored big points on this one. Last Papo animal! Oh dear, it is a deer! Not that I don't have any in my collection already... *hides* This male white tailed deer is just beautiful! Love the pose, colors, face, everything! (Although the hooves could be painted more carefully.) I can see him as a very sturdy male trotting through the high grass, looking for rivals or females. A real nice forest animal, that makes my deer group count at one more. So these where the Papos in my MPV haul, next we have Safari! I got two animals that where not new for 2016. But they still where on my WL, so I bought them also. We begin with two felines and I have to be sure to get the right name with the right animal. Because they are the new 2016 Canadian lynx and the older Bobcat. Both very nice, small wild cats. Safari style fits very well with these animals. Look at the fluffy, big soft paws of the Canadian lynx <3 I also got a big animal from Safari. a Wildlife Wonders coyote. I really love his eyes, they really speak. Moving pose and fur are wonderful too. Wish I could own more form this series. Luckily for me, I have extra room when my new Hobbyroom will be finished. (Getting closer and closer in actually finishing my Hobbyroom every week!) he is not as big as the Papo wolf, but a nice size nonetheless. Very happy to have him in my collection now <3 I keep adding the same sort/species in my collection... An other deer! A male red deer. I keep buying all the deer, because they make then so good! He has a typical Safari face, with clearly visible lines and colors. Really like the hind legs, as he is standing proudly. I have no other deer from Safari, so he is the only one of his kind in my collection right now. He has some competition from the Schleich red deer male, but this one is slightly bigger, so that would not be any problem for this guy. Marsupial time! A wallaby has entered my collection thanks to Safari. It has a typical standing pose and the colors are very well chosen. Really like the little markings it has on his face. A welcome diversity to the many kangaroos many brands already have made. That was the last one from Safari, next are my new CollectA animals! CollectA has a high mark on the more unusual species, as also in 2016. Very pleased by all the new animals they have made, but could only choose so many as my collection could bare. Lets begin with an sea mammal, a Blainville's Beaked whale. I flipped when I saw the announcement on STS and I knew I wanted this one in my collection from the moment I saw him. I don't have many cetaceans from CollectA, but this one is an absolute must have! The white specks, the colors, the face, everything is perfect. It has a slight bend in this tail fluke, which is suppose to be so, to make the pose a bit more interesting. <3 The thylacine from Mojo got a mate and a pup all at once! CollectA made a Thylacine with a pup in her pouch, you can see her cute tail sticking out <3 The open mouth gives this extinct animal just the right feeling of being alive one more time. Such a shame that this beautiful predator is gone from our planted for good. Luckily we have one more model from this animal that we can behold and share. CollectA is an outstanding brand know for their rare species and antelopes. We already have an adult Giant Eland male, but now we have a calf who joins his side. (CollectA has an tendency to make all their animals males...) They choose for an older calf, who has already has some horns forming. Cute little fella, who fits the adult perfectly. Now we all hope for more young antelopes, maybe in 2017? A Thar! A what now? Exactly my thought when I saw this new animal from CollectA. I did some Googling (Wikipedia to be precise.) and was amazed about the fact how little is know about this Himalayan Thar goat. The males are stunning, with their big 'mane' like hairdo. CollectA did an awesome job on this fact and gave the Thar a color scheme to dream about <3 The brown hues just go along the body so nicely. The great face, the horns and the rest of his goat like body makes this Himalayan Thar a welcome new addition to my collection <3 Sometimes you have an specie that you never could have guessed to be ever in you collection one day. I have several of them and one of them is a shoebill stork. These weird looking birds are awesome and so misunderstood. But this year has to be the year of the shoebill! As not one, not two but three specimen entered my collection. Two are from Kaiyodo and one is from CollectA. The CollectA one is much bigger that the ones from Kaiyodo, but I really don't mind as I do not collect trough scales. This bird has so much details, it is amazing! He stands perfectly and he has a real shoebill appearance, that look in his eyes. Next one is one big bird, it is a wild turkey male. The details are stunning and I love the metallic shine his feathers have. The only minus are the feet, who are somewhat strangely placed underneath the bird. They don't carry the bird, as he is 'standing' on the feathers of his wings. Clever idea but it makes his feet almost unnecessary. Nonetheless it is a very impressive bird! Almost finished with this long haul, if you are still reading this blog, good job! XD Two animals to go and they are two beautiful animals to end a blog with. A Nilgai is also an animal that I never have considered to be in my collection one day. But this beautiful male Nilgai is standing proudly between other residential rain forest animals. Very nice looking antelope with nice little detail. (Mine has one bad left eye though XD) And we finish with an animal that most collectors went almost crazy about, a Grevy zebra! Zebras have a lot of stripes and most brands do tent to do a good job on them. But if you look closely there are some mistakes or the stripes are literally carved in the mold. This looks so unreal, but the Grevy zebra from CollectA has nothing to worry about as his stripes are perfect! His walking pose makes it ideal for outdoor photos. I am in love with this model, such a beauty to look at. Great job CollectA! <3 This is the last animal from this very, long blog. But not the end to many new additions that are waiting to be photographed and placed here! I also am still working on my new hobby room, which is almost finished. I keep you all updated on the progress of course!
