Some new model animals, a fox statue and a big cat book. This week I got some new additions to show you. Lucky findings and some blind bags. I was shopping in a toyshop, when I found some blind-bags from BBC Walking With Dinosaurs, the movie. I have not seen the movie, but I have been to the theater show of WWD. Which was awesome btw XD I took 3 blind-bags with me. I obviously could feel a little bit which dinosaur was inside, so I took the three biggest with me. With tow I was lucky to find the original card inside as well, with some information about the figure in the bad. One bag sadly was stapled and the card was gone already. I don't mind it, but as a collector you try to get everything which belongs to that subject. The little rodent like critter looks really nice. Great fur texture and the face is sweet. I only really like one of the dinosaurs, and that is the one without his card. I therefore don't know his name and information yet. The other one has less texture and the paint job could be better. Note: The rodent critter and the gray dinosaur found new homes. Two dear STS members thought they where cute/beautiful. So I thought it would be a good idea to give them a new home. Only the brown dinosaur is still on my Dino-shelf. I was very lucky to find two great animals on a Dutch action site known as Marktplaats. The old Papo silver/white arctic wolf from 2003 and the Safari LTD mountain lion from 2007. Both in really good condition! The face of the Safari LTD mountain lions is just gorgeous. Also the pose and the texture are great. Being older, the Papo arctic wolf has something that I can't explain. The same characteristics I can find is in the old Safari LTD Vanishing Wild and Authentic series. Maybe it is the fur texture, which is really visible. Or it is the eyes/face which reminds me of those other older series. Both are very welcome on my canine/feline shelves <3 For size reverence and comparison, I took a photo of the old and the new Papo wolves together. What a difference! o.0 I am a member of a international model animal collectors forum called STS. Being a member for some years already, I have traded so many animals that I can't remember who was my first or what I got from him/her XD But trading never stops on STS, and last week I got a small animal from one of the members. A little K&M Bongo! I love Bongo's and I already have the Kaiyodo Study-room Bongo in my collection <3 I think Bongo's are the most precious of all antelopes. So this little one was very welcome. I sometimes paint/pastel animals when it is in my ownership. I also modified the little K&M Bongo a bit. I put a bit of black pastel on his back-line and on his snout and I painted his hooves black with acrylics. No big modifications, as I did not want to ruin the K&M spirit. In a secondhand shop (I LOVE secondhand shops and such <3) I found this incredible fox statue, featuring a mother fox who learns her kit to hunt a mouse/rat. No brand on it and I think it is just a cheap knockoff of something. But this scenery did made me jump a bit, so I took it home. After some cleaning (I often clean secondhand findings.) it was all beautiful and clean <3 Only one minor thing is that a little piece of the kits ears was broken of. Not due to me, but I did not see it when I bought it XD But I don't mind, not a major default. Sometimes somethings are meant to be, right? I think so and this books proves it for me a bit more. I was looking trough a kids bookstore, maybe they had some model animals? Nope. So I did look around a bit more and ended up on the animal book section (Hehe, what a surprise!). Nothing major interesting, as I only go for the illustrations. But one, thin book caught my interest: My fist book about Big Cats. Oooh, the illustrations really are my taste. But, I already have a beautiful book about big cats and big cats are mentioned also in other books of mine as well. So I decided to not take the book with me and go home. The next day, after work, I did go to an other secondhand shop (My hometown has many small secondhand shops.) and found the same book! Only for 50 cents! I could not believe my eyes and I was hyper inside. I found the same Big Cats book, under a few other books, for only 50 cents! I took it home and I really had the feeling that because I did not want it before, because I appreciated what I already had, it found me instead. Great way to end this weeks additions :3
