In my previous blog-entry (week 24) I talked about a special addition that deserved his very own entry. Trying typing this beginning several times, to begin this blog-entry with a bang. But time passed to fast and I still had nothing yet. So I thought, go with the flow and see what will happen. So, I can't wait to let the photos roll around this page and set you in awe. But first, let me take you to the start of the model being in my collection. A very dear STS member and sculptor of this beauty, posted a sale topic for this model a week ago . It did not last long, as I immediately took my chance and messaged her with the buying offer. I was eyeing for a horse from her hands for some time now. Even more so, when I took a workshop at her home and fell in love with her handmade horses for real <3 She sculpts for a great toy company as well and her models are very well known for their quality. The day after she sent the horse, it arrived. Gosh, never was I shaking so hard when opening a package. He was very well wrapped and it took me some time to unwrap him. Layer after layer he became more and more visible. His brown coat, his black mane and tail, his golden eyes... I was in awe! I had him in my hands now! It took some time to really realize I had an actual 'Snegir' in my hands. I am SO happy with him. Everything is just perfect. His pose is alert and he is a great leading stallion <3 The details and the shading, oh my! Oke, I will stop chatting now. Lets bring in some photos! Oh, and no photos shown here are bringing any justice to the greatness of this horse! I can promise you that. I will add a photo of the cards I got with him. Original sculpt card, card from the sculptor and a Live Horsemodel Show winning card, as the sculptor did bring him to a Live Horsemodel Show in Baarn as well. My little champion. He won 3rth place in the category 'colors'. What can I say more than these photos already do? His colors, pose, details are all perfect. Never could I have thought that I would own him in my collection one day <3 Thank you so much Horse and Bird! (http://www.horseandbird.com/blog)

AAA spider, surprise CollectA gift, two books and something for an other blog-entry! New week, new additions. Not much, but what I got is fantastic. lets begin with a find I did in a local Intertoys. An AAA spider! AAA is popping up out of nowhere these weeks, I like it! They had two versions for sale, I only took one. Found it in a random plastic container close to all the Schleich they have for sale. I love random boxes/containers with plastic animals in them. It is always fun to look trough them and find jewels like this one. I don't know the specie of this spider. But it has a sucker on his belly, so it can stick around here and there. Made out of a soft rubber type material, the legs can wiggle a bit. I love the blue color of his belly part and the size as well. After sending one of the WWD blind-bag dinosaurs to his new owner, I got a message back saying I will get something in return. Not my intention at all to get something in return, but I really appreciated it. So when the mailman came and posted an envelope, I was very curious of what was inside! Never could I have guessed that it would be the new 2016 CollectA Hirola! It is beautiful! CollectA is a pioneer in rare species and with the Hirola they did an awesome job! The name of this Hirola is Flint and I promised to take good care of him. The size, the colors and his face are great! The only minus are the thin legs, who are bending a bit inwards on this one. Nevertheless, this is a great new addition to my antelopes and I can recommend this one to all collectors. And last but not least, books! Two books. One from Elseviers Guides, the cat guide! Great condition for a second hand book. Found this one in a secondhand store with one rack FULL of nature/animal books. It was a real pleasure to look trough all of them. But only found just this one book. Oh well, I have to be picky at some point. Book has all the things Elseviers Guides are known for. Nice illustrations, much information and easy reading. Not only information about the breeds, but also about how to care for your cat or new kitten in general. The second book is a small animal guide with the illustrations I adore! I must be honest and tell you I have several animal guides already in my collection. But this one really got my attention because the drawings are different from the ones I already have. I can't really explain it actually, but I just needed to take this one home with me. Also in good condition for a secondhand book, also found in a secondhand store. But this time one near my home. I bought something really special this week. So special, I want to dedicate an whole blog-entry to it. So when the weather is getting better, I shall take photos of it and post it here! Curious? Well, you will see it in the next blog-entry!
Trough an awesome trade with one of my dear STS members, I got the chance to get the new 2016 Mojo Fun wolf pup. When it arrived I could not wait to open the envelope and see the new wolf pup who would be my third wolf pup in my collection. Mojo Fun is a new big brand who is exploring the market and is doing a great job so far. They already had two adult wolves in their forest animal range and with the new 2016 wolf pup and a howling adult wolf, a pack is getting born! (On a side note, the wolf pup and howling adult wolf are both labeled as timber wolves, but still could be members of that pack.) I am not a wolf expert, so it is all my own opinion than real expertise. Lets get started with some photos and the review! Let me start with the face. I adore her face. Her eyes really pop, as they look curious and active. The green color really goes well with the rest of her colors. Her proportions are also looking good. Darker back and lighter belly makes the wolf pup look really natural. The fur colors are not overly harsh, as some wolves tent to be grayer or silver and that doesn't look natural at all. (She doe look yellower in my photos, she is not looking like that in real.) The only thing that s a bit of a minus is the standing pose. The lets don't show any movement while pups this age are curious and adventurous. She also looks very sleek qua fur in comparison with the adult Mojo Fun wolves. But! I can't complain as this is one of the best wolf pups I have ever seen in the big model brands. Really happy I have her in my own pack. Lets see how she looks with other wolves and wolf pups. Sadly, I don't own any adult Mojo Fun wolf at this moment... F.L.T.R showing in the photos are the Papo wolf pup, the Schleich wolf pup, all my pups together with Schleich Bayala adult wolf and all my pup together with Schleich adult wolf. The new Mojo Fun pup fits right in! She is a tat bigger that the Schleich wolf pup. She is as big (back to back) as the Papo wolf pup, but her proportions are way better I think. She really makes a cute pair in the last photo with the Schleich adult wolf. (I can't get over the fact how silly my Schleich wolf pup looks in these photos.) In the end, she really is an adoring cute wolf pup and for all the wolf collectors I surely recommend this little one!
AAA macaw, BC plush and some other things. So this week I got some animal related stuff I want to show you. I went together with my BF to a zoo, where I found some really nice animal related stuff! The zoos primal direction are primates from all over the world, but they have some other small animals as well. In the gift shop I found a AAA macaw! In perfect condition and for a reasonable price. (Often gift shop prices are way to high...) So I took one with me! I love the colors and his paint job is great. Just like other AAA animal, the size is not is scale with the rest of my other parrot family. So he is standing with my other bigger animals, like Safari Vanishing Wild. Why the little Lego block, because it is a good measuring item if the photo gets on TAI (Toy Animal Info or Wiki). On a side note: So apparently, the upper side of the macaws beak is suppose to be white! This was pointed out to me by one of the members of a nice Facebook animal model collecting group. I looked better at my macaw and found a tiny little white area underneath the upper beak. So it was painted over with black paint. I have no idea why. But it is strange! My macaw has the typical triangle AAA mark that AAA uses to mark their animals with. I wish I could get more information about this. Even the real bird has a white upper beak. I also found a little blank notepad and a book page-divider with the same print. 3D jungle animal print. The image is drawn, which I like obviously. And the 3D effect gives it a little more of a wow effect. There where different types of notepads and book page-dividers with different themes. But the jungle one caught my eye the most. It also has a macaw on it, to stick with the AAA macaw theme. Not sure if I'm going to use the notepad, but it is always handy to have one laying around. On the same day we went tot the zoo, we went also to a flea market. But it was not a of a big success as I had hoped it would be. Sometimes you don't have all the luck. I did found some stuff that was interesting, but I had better hauls on flea markets before. I found a Elseviers shell guide. I love the guides from Elsevier, who is a publisher. They have many interesting guides about nature and animals. And with the drawings that I love! I already had the horse guide and the freshwater fish guide, so now I have three. Condition of the book could be better. The underside was wet and then dried the wrong way. So the first few pages where stuck together, so they are a bit damaged after I took them loose. Also the back and front cover of the book have some sun bleach damage as well. But the Elseviers guides are hard to get these days, so I don't complain much about the condition it is in now XD Besides, the shells pictured in the book with their information are all good. And that is the main reason I wanted this book. And the last thing I found was a little Border Collie plush from Macdonalds. We have a real Border Collie ourself, his name is Gaell. And he was the start of my model Border Collie collection! I currently have over 36 different Border Collie models, from all the big brands and more. And from different kind of materials as well. But I can't help myself if I find something Border Collie related and it is small and will fit on my desk or shelf properly and it is not a model... If it is a beautiful card, pen, book, shirt, plush, magnet, jewelry or such, I will collect it. All Border Collie related stuff <3 Crazy collector, I know. The plush is not that good, but for a Macdonalds toy I can't expect much right? It is cute enough to be with my other stuffed animals.
